About the Event

The seminar will provide an introduction to Supervised Learning, playing with the MATLAB built-in function.

Contents of the seminar are mainly taken from the online self-paced course Machine Learning with MATLAB, with extra contents to understand/review the theoretical background.

We are going to discuss two subgroups of analysis, belonging to supervised learning, which are Classification and Regression.

Specifically, after a basic introduction of few core concepts, we are going to discuss how some supervised learning algorithms work, like k-Nearest Neighbor, Decision Trees, Support vector Machines and others. The seminar will also provide Demos to recap these concepts and to see them applied in the resolution of few problems.

The presentation lasts 2 h and it is intended to be for beginners in the field. However, I added few extra contents, expecially in the demo, hoping that this presentation would be interesting also for those already familiar with these topics.
